Why We’re Here

Most air conditioning brochures are written for engineers. This isn’t one of them.

We started ChillHaus because we kept hearing the same conversation, in one form or another: “I’d love air conditioning, but I don’t want that box on the wall outside.” Sometimes it was a conservation officer saying no. Sometimes it was a lease that banned external units outright. Sometimes it was simply someone who’d spent a great deal of care on how their home looks from the street, and didn’t want to undo it with a condenser unit bolted to the back wall.

Traditional air conditioning has always needed somewhere to reject heat outside. That’s not a flaw exactly — it’s just how the technology has always worked. We didn’t think it needed to stay that way.

ChillHaus was built on one idea: comfort shouldn’t compromise how your home looks.

What Makes Us Different

Every system we install is invisible from the outside. No condensing unit. No box to explain to a conservation officer, a freeholder, or a neighbour. Just a home that’s quietly, evenly comfortable — heated and cooled without anyone ever knowing how.

We work with three systems, each solving the “no outdoor unit” problem in a different way, suited to different homes and different constraints.

Our Three Systems, in Plain English

I. The Water System

Hides indoors, runs on your water supply.

This system sits entirely indoors and exchanges heat with your household water supply instead of outside air — just a water pipe in, a pipe out, and a normal plug. Think of it as a heat pump that “drinks” rather than “breathes.”

It’s closer to installing a boiler than installing traditional air conditioning: pick a spot indoors, connect the water and drain, plug it in. No facade work, and the refrigerant circuit is factory-sealed and never opened on site.

Best suited to: listed buildings, conservation areas, leasehold flats that ban external units, and internal rooms with no external wall — provided there’s water pipework nearby.

II. The Air System

Hides indoors, two small wall vents.

This one works like a traditional air conditioner, folded into a single slim indoor panel — with just two small wall openings to breathe in and out. It’s a standard AC unit turned inside-out: the vents face outward, everything else stays hidden within the room.

Installation means coring two 180mm wall openings for the intake and exhaust grilles, mounting the unit, and plugging it in. No water connection, no outdoor wiring.

Best suited to: homes where a water connection isn’t practical, hotels and modern apartments, and any room with easy external wall access.

III. The Multi-Room System

One system, up to five rooms.

This is the Water System, scaled up — a single indoor unit that can feed up to five separate rooms, each with independent control. It’s the water-based equivalent of a normal multi-room system, except the “outdoor unit” simply lives indoors too.

Best suited to: whole-house comfort, commercial and hospitality settings, and larger or open-ceilinged spaces like lofts — anywhere a single system needs to do more than one room’s worth of work.

Which One’s Right for You?

A quick way to think about it:

Water and drainage nearby, but nothing external allowed at all? The Water System, or the Multi-Room System if you need more than one room.

Can’t connect to water, but two small wall openings are fine? The Air System.

Need more than one room from a single system? The Multi-Room System.

No external wall in the room at all? The Water System or the Multi-Room System — the only two options that don’t rely on outside air.

Large, open-ceilinged space, like a loft? The Multi-Room System.
